    Other Side Of Maleficent

I have been looking forward to Maleficent with equal amounts of anticipation and dread. On one hand, she is easily my favorite Disney villain, so cold and so pure, and I want desperately to see more of her and her back-story. On the other hand, she is easily my favorite Disney villain, and I would hate to see her parodied, taken lightly or ultimately destroyed in a film that does not understand this great character. The good news is that this film almost gets it right; but that is also the bad news.

    Disney To Feast In France

The follow up to Disney’s 2013 Academy Award Winning short Paperman has been announced, and it will premiere at France’s Annecy International Animated Film Festival. Titled The Feast, the short looks to be based on the same stylized CG techniques used on last years Paperman, a more natural and hand-drawn look to computer animation.

    Renegades of Animation: Pat Sullivan

Pat Sullivan became famous worldwide for his creation of Felix the Cat. What most animation histories gloss over is Sullivan’s checkered past and longtime standing as a wildcat renegade. He didn’t follow the rules. And he made damn sure to fully protect his intellectual properties.

Right, Glowworm So you go again. Good job. And all clues are self-explanatory. :)

That was fast. Truth be told, I really don't care for this cartoon--the ending is pretty disturbing.
    Anyhow--here goes.
    1. A dog is man's best friend right? Well I basically am none of the things my owner thinks I am.
    2. I get away with it all too throughout the short and never receive comeuppance.
    3. Yours truly(as in Glowworm, not the character) absolutely hates this cartoon.

I hate this cartoon too. It's Shep, the dog who gets all the praise in Fresh Airedale.

Bingo, It's Shep the dog from "Fresh Airedale."
    1. Shep is one nasty dog--he takes bribes from burglars, and steals the master's roast and blames it on the cat.
    2. Unlike the dog from "Chow Hound" Shep never gets the comeuppance he deserves.
    3. This is honestly one of my least favorite Looney Tunes shorts. Why do I hate this short so much--it's really mean-spirited, and I feel especially sorry for that poor cat.

In fact, back when I had just finished second grade and summer had started, I first saw this short--or rather, I saw part of it. It upset me so much, I made my father turn it off. Years later, I finally saw the short in its entirety--and still wasn't pleased with it.

Yeah, this is one of the few LT shorts that I actually hate. Anyway...

Some dopey guy and I are both hunting for the same animal.
For a brief moment, it's reveled that I have paws instead of hands.
At the end of the short, the tables are turned and now I am the one being hunted!

    More? OK...

The title of my short is a play on the title of a novel.
I talk but have no name.
We both spot the little black duck taking a shower.

Got it--The fox from "What Makes Daffy Duck?" My original thought was a long shot.

    Yep, it's the fox.

The dopey guy is Elmer, and they are both hunting Daffy.
At one point, Elmer points a gun at the fox and when he threw his hands in the air, the gloves came off and paws are revealed.
The short's title is a play on the novel, What Makes Sammy Run?
The rest of the clues are self-explanatory.

Thanks. Never knew the title was a play on a novel.
    Here's one
    1. I am a hunter.
    2. Unlike a more well known one, I am based off an actor--and voiced by him as well.
    3. I manage to snag a mysterious briefcase--what's inside is terrifying.

    4. There are two ducks in this short.
    5. One of the ducks is a running gag--sobbing and holding a briefcase.
    6. However, that duck gets really ticked off whenever he's asked what's wrong, and won't show me or the other duck what's inside it.

Aha! It's the Victor Moore-type hunter from "Ain't That Ducky."

    1. Self-explanatory.

    2. He was a caricature of Victor Moore, and was even voiced by him.

    3. The briefcase contained a piece of paper with the words "The End" on it.

    4. Self-explanatory again.

    5. Self-explanatory yet again.

    6. Says this other duck, "Ahh shut up!"

Yes--but the actor in question is actually called Victor Moore. I actually never knew as a kid that the hunter was actually based upon and voiced by a real life actor. (although, I never knew anything about Moore until then.) When I was little, my dad and I thought he was a really weird looking Elmer Fudd. Hey--he was wearing his trademark hunting outfit and even sang "A Hunting I will go."

Thanks, Glowworm. Now for another that's gone totally untapped:

    1. I'm an American imprisoned in England.

    2. Neither I nor my fellow prisoners are human.

    3. Our objective is to prevent ourselves from becoming pies.

This is the cocky Rocky the rooster, from Aardman Animation's Chicken Run. Rocky is an American, despite being voiced by Mel Gibson. Rocky is believed to have the power of flight, which would help the chickens escape from Tweedy's farm. However, Rocky can only "fly" when shot out of a cannon as part of a circus stunt.

Cool, and following your example, I'm picking another timely character. :)

    1) This character debuted on Friday 2 November 2001 in an animated feature, and has recurred in one short cartoon and another feature film.

    2) Like the SWAT Kats, this character is the Smart Guy, while his partner is the Big Guy. However, these two don't have the flashy 3-engine TurboKat fighter plane. Instead, they're work-a-day salarymen for a utility company.

    3) Everybody wants their fifteen minutes of fame. This character is no different, desiring to be seen in broadcast media. Wish granted, guy.
