You WIll Need To Reset Your Password!!!

We just moved hosts on this system, and this has caused a few updates. One is the way we encode and store the encoded passwords.

Your old passwords will NOT work. You will need to reset your password. This is normal. Just click on reset password from the log in screen. Should be smooth as silk to do...

    Sorry for the hassle.

    Other Side Of Maleficent

I have been looking forward to Maleficent with equal amounts of anticipation and dread. On one hand, she is easily my favorite Disney villain, so cold and so pure, and I want desperately to see more of her and her back-story. On the other hand, she is easily my favorite Disney villain, and I would hate to see her parodied, taken lightly or ultimately destroyed in a film that does not understand this great character. The good news is that this film almost gets it right; but that is also the bad news.

    Disney To Feast In France

The follow up to Disney’s 2013 Academy Award Winning short Paperman has been announced, and it will premiere at France’s Annecy International Animated Film Festival. Titled The Feast, the short looks to be based on the same stylized CG techniques used on last years Paperman, a more natural and hand-drawn look to computer animation.

    Renegades of Animation: Pat Sullivan

Pat Sullivan became famous worldwide for his creation of Felix the Cat. What most animation histories gloss over is Sullivan’s checkered past and longtime standing as a wildcat renegade. He didn’t follow the rules. And he made damn sure to fully protect his intellectual properties.

Glowwor, you got it right! It is indeed Spud, the potato monster.

    1. He was more humanoid than vegetable.

    2. Very self-explanatory.

    3. When Huck sent him up in a rocket, and the projectile exploded, it began raining potato chips.

You're up again, Glow. Superb job! :)

Yeah, that's one of those shorts where once you've seen it, you'll never forget it.
    Here's one.
    1. My short is somewhat based upon a well known fairy tale.
    2. Unlike the main character though, I never actually come to life.
    3. Okay, I do come to life at the very end of the short.

Don't know. Someone should get it with no trouble.

Yeah, I'm stuck on this one. I'll wait on the next set of clues.

    More clues
    4. I'm a puppet but am treated like an actual person throughout the entire short.
    5. My life is very much like a real person's. I graduate from school, get a successful job, get replaced by a machine and get an early retirement.
    6. My life then goes downhill from there, and despite the so called "happy ending" by the narrator, sleeping in a trashcan is not really a good way to spend life.

I might have finally come up with a stumper. Usually I go up to the allowed 9 clues in order to make sure the character is solved--and to make the later clues as easy as possible, so none of my characters go unsolved. However, I actually don't think I can come up with any more for this one. So if no one gets this one by tomorrow afternoon, I will reveal my character and give someone else a turn.

As promised, here is the answer.
It's Spinnolio, from the NFB short, "Spinnolio."

    Here are the clues.
    1. Spinnolio is obviously based upon Pinocchio.
    2. Unlike Pinocchio however, Spinnolio never gains sentience.
    3. At the very end of the short, the good fairy finally arrives in order to turn Spinnolio into a real person.
    4. Self explanitory. Spinnolio is not alive, but is still treated as an actual human being.
5.Spinnolio graduates from school, gets a job in the complaint and refund department of a store, gets promoted to assistant manager and later becomes part of the employment counseling division. However, his job soon becomes obsolete because a computer can do it, thus leading to early retirement.
    6. Spinnolio gets a prison sentence for loitering, hangs around with hippies, biker gangs and drunks and winds up in a garbage can, where the good fairy brings him to life. The short ends with the now human Spinnolio sleeping in the garbage can while the narrator concludes that he lived "happily ever after."

Whoever, wants the next turn--take it, it's yours.

Aw man. I knew it had to do with Pinocchio but wasn't finding any leads. It's a funny concept though. A wooden puppet going through life as if he were real.

Yeah, I find a lot of obscure things on youtube sometimes to watch. This was one of them. I wasn't sure if anyone would get it, but other Canadian cartoons have been guessed correctly before--although those are more well known ones.

    OK, here it goes.

I met my best friend many decades ago.
My buddy and I don't speak the same language, but we understand each other.
My species have a natural ability, but I struggle with it.

I haven't the slightest idea. It must be a skunk, but none of the unposted polecats match the clues.

    Some more.

I do some jobs for my friend. I'm his secretary, and sometimes a caddy.
I was named after an event.
Before I was animated, I was first seen in a comic.

I know it now. It's Woodstock!

    1. He met Snoopy decades ago.

    2. Since he's a bird, and Snoopy's a dog, they don't speak the same language, but they do understand each other.

    3. He can fly, but it's hard for him.

    4. He's been Snoopy's secretary and caddy, among other jobs.

    5. He was named for the Woodstock music festival.

    6. He originated in the "Peanuts" comic strip. At first, he was only called "Bird Hippie," and didn't get his name until after the Woodstock fair.

If I'm right, I'll pass my turn to OUB or FluidGirl, depending on who posts first. Since today is the 50th anniversary of a terribly tragic event, I just don't feel like posting a new character. :(

    That's right, It is Woodstock!

Yeah, there has been a lot of coverage on my local stations, and a ceremony marking JFK's assassination took place in Dallas.

I think I've got one that'll be WAAAAYYYYY too easy, but my brain is too fried to think of anything harder (term papers should be outlawed!)

    1. We're three of a kind

    2. The only way to tell us apart is by our clothes

    3. We were originally voiced by the same person who voiced our guardian

I know the answer, but would still rather let someone else guess the trio.
