    Other Side Of Maleficent

I have been looking forward to Maleficent with equal amounts of anticipation and dread. On one hand, she is easily my favorite Disney villain, so cold and so pure, and I want desperately to see more of her and her back-story. On the other hand, she is easily my favorite Disney villain, and I would hate to see her parodied, taken lightly or ultimately destroyed in a film that does not understand this great character. The good news is that this film almost gets it right; but that is also the bad news.

    Disney To Feast In France

The follow up to Disney’s 2013 Academy Award Winning short Paperman has been announced, and it will premiere at France’s Annecy International Animated Film Festival. Titled The Feast, the short looks to be based on the same stylized CG techniques used on last years Paperman, a more natural and hand-drawn look to computer animation.

    Renegades of Animation: Pat Sullivan

Pat Sullivan became famous worldwide for his creation of Felix the Cat. What most animation histories gloss over is Sullivan’s checkered past and longtime standing as a wildcat renegade. He didn’t follow the rules. And he made damn sure to fully protect his intellectual properties.

Those segments are pretty cute. Now, on with my character.

By looking at me, you wouldn't think I'm a bad guy.
I met a girl and we are made for each other.
Because of her, I switched to the good side.

The only one I can think of is already on the list. So it can't be him.

Once again, like some C-list villain, I'm a-lobbing bricks. This may hurt ...

Jack Skellington, the King of Hallowe'en Town, from Tim Burton's The Nightmare Before Christmas. Jack seems more affable than the other denizens of his domain, with less scars / fangs / stitches / talons / et cetera. Sallie tried to dissuade Jack from supplanting Santa Claus as the patron saint of Christmas, but Jack was too full of himself to listen. Sallie, by the way, was stitched together in Frankenstein fashion by Doctor Finklestein. Sallie joins with Jack to rescue Santa Claus from the wicked deathtraps of Oogie Boogie.

Nope, not Jack. This may narrow it down.

I was in one movie and one short.
I live in a house, and have an impressive wardrobe.
Before I switched sides, I was one of the main antagonist's henchmen.

Sorry, but I still don't have it. This may call for extensive research.

Hopefully, these last three clues will do it.

I am based on a toy.
    My voice actor was Batman.
It's true that this girl and I were made for each other but, to be historically accurate, I was made for her.

Can't think of any characters that match those last three clues.

It dawned on me while I was out and before you placed the last 3 clues.
It's Ken from Toy Story 3.
    1. Let's face it, Ken is the last toy you'd expect to be a bad guy.
    2. Ken meets Barbie--and let's face it-- that's a match made in heaven.
    3. Ken eventually swaps sides due to Barbie.
    4. Toy Story 3 and the short Hawaiian Vacation.
    5. self explanitory.
    6. Lotso Hugging Bear's henchman to be exact.
    7. Ken is a Ken doll of course!
    8. Michael Keaton who was in Tim Burton's Batman films.
    9. Yup, Ken was literally made for Barbie.

Thanks, I was almost certain someone else was going to get it before I could finally post.
Eh what the heck, why not?

    1. As is the case with most heroes, I am an unusual choice. I am clumsy and a crybaby.
    2. However, I do progress as time goes on.
    3. A new series based on me is coming out very soon.

Could this be Norville "Shaggy" Rogers from Hanna-Barbera's Scooby Doo franchise?

Yep, It's Usagi/Serena from Sailor Moon--also, Usagi means "Bunny" in Japanese.

    1. Usagi describes herself--at least in the Japanese version as being a crybaby and a bit of a klutz--not exactly heroic material.
    2. However, in both the manga and the anime, she does get better at being the guardian of the moon.
    3. Tomorrow, Sailor Moon Crystal makes its debut--it can be watched online through Hulu (which is also uploading the original Japanese with English subs series as well) and will be closer based to the manga.

Thanks, Glowworm. Now here's one that's both perfect and easy:

    1. Despite my many failures, I'm an American icon.

    2. For the most part, I'm the title character of my made-for-TV specials, and animated feature films.

    3. From 1988-89, eight of my TV cartoons were devoted to people and events from American History.

Well, looks like three more clues are in order:

    4. More often than not, I'm called a blockhead.

    5. I'm just no good when it comes to playing baseball, flying kites, and kicking footballs.

    6. However, a classic Broadway musical calls me a good man.

Yep. And most of the clues are self-explanatory, but to refresh memories about clue 3, there was an eight-episode miniseries called "This Is America, Charlie Brown."

So good job, Saltyboot. The board is all yours once again. :)

    Thanks, and here I go.

    We are identical triplets.
You can only tell us apart by the color of our scarves.
Our uncle is the main antagonist.
