    Other Side Of Maleficent

I have been looking forward to Maleficent with equal amounts of anticipation and dread. On one hand, she is easily my favorite Disney villain, so cold and so pure, and I want desperately to see more of her and her back-story. On the other hand, she is easily my favorite Disney villain, and I would hate to see her parodied, taken lightly or ultimately destroyed in a film that does not understand this great character. The good news is that this film almost gets it right; but that is also the bad news.

    Disney To Feast In France

The follow up to Disney’s 2013 Academy Award Winning short Paperman has been announced, and it will premiere at France’s Annecy International Animated Film Festival. Titled The Feast, the short looks to be based on the same stylized CG techniques used on last years Paperman, a more natural and hand-drawn look to computer animation.

    Renegades of Animation: Pat Sullivan

Pat Sullivan became famous worldwide for his creation of Felix the Cat. What most animation histories gloss over is Sullivan’s checkered past and longtime standing as a wildcat renegade. He didn’t follow the rules. And he made damn sure to fully protect his intellectual properties.

    Sorry, Charlie . . . . oops, I mean saltyboot (forgive me, I couldn't resist). Anyway, here's a (hopefully) easier character.

    1. I have low self-esteem (extremely-low)

    2. I'm pink, which isn't surprising, considering my franchise was (and still is) marketed towards girls

    3. Despite my name being a synonym for "dishonest" and "suspicious," I really am one of the good guys

Didn't take long to find this one. It's Shady, from "My Little Pony."

I strongly believe the EmeraldIsle has correctly identified this Mystery Character. Therefore, FluidGirl, I'd appreciate getting an indicator of which generation of Hasbro's My Little Pony series has this Shady pony. It helps a lot with the character tracking sheet.

Oh, and the rule is correct: the poser whose Mystery Character goes unguessed retains control of the board, and is entitled to query another character. Control of the board may also be passed, to a participant in particular or to any participant in an "up for grabs" manner. While the unguessed character nets no one a point, I nonetheless track all unguessed characters, and who among us posed them.

It is definitely Shady from "My Little Pony," or more specifically, "My Little Pony 'n Friends" from 1986, or G1. Just so everybody knows, if I do a character that sounds like it's from MLP, it will ALWAYS be from G1, because I don't like "Friendship is Magic" at all. I'm a G1 Pony Gal all the way.

Thanks, Fluidgirl. Now here's another I've always wanted to post:

    1. Years before the Disney version, I accompanied the title hero in his first animated series.

    2. I have a very unusual name for one of my species.

    3. I say everything twice. Everything twice.

Thanks, Em! I liked the equine connection!

No such link to the next character...

    1) I fall in love with a newcomer, who has escaped his former life.

    2) But he spurns my advances.

    3) I accidentally become engaged to the local bully.

It sounds like Lulubelle from the Disney short, "Bongo," which was part of "Fun and Fancy Free." I had to ask mein sister her name, because I couldn't remember it!

    1. Lulubelle falls for Bongo, who escaped from the circus

    2. Bongo doesn't realize a slap in the face is the way these bears show they like each other

    3. Lulubelle accidentally slaps the bully in the face (I can't remember his name) and he thinks she's chosen him

    You got it, FluidGirl!

Bongo also falls for Lulubelle, but thinks her slap of affection is meant as rejection.
Her final attempt to get a response from Bongo misses and hits Lumpjaw instead.
(All ends happily after Bongo discovers his mistake, and defeats Lumpjaw with his circus skills.)

    Your turn!

This is probably going to be too easy, but oh well.

    1. I started out as an antagonist before I was spun off to my own show

    2. I'm a vegetarian, much to the disgrace and annoyance of my butler

    3. I'm obsessed with breaking into show biz.

Boy do I know this one! It's Count Duckula, from said show.

    1. In the Danger Mouse episode "The Four Tasks of Dangermouse" Dangermouse must get two feathers from a vampire duck--thus introducing Count Duckula (Who would appear in 3 more episodes on the show). The Count was dipicted as a villainous vampire--and definitly not a vegetarian on this show--and he had a completely different voice with a bit of a stutter. Later on, he'd actually get his own show--and display some different behavior traits.

    2. Due to a botched resurection cermony in which the dopey maid Nanny uses a bottle of ketchup instead of blood, Duckula is reborn as a vegetarian. His butler, Igor, is not pleased with this.

    3. From the very start, even in Danger Mouse--Count Duckula always wanted to break into show business--despite not being very good at it.

You got it, Glowworm! It's indeed Count Duckula, a favorite of mine from ye olden days of Nickelodeon (and one of the catchiest TV theme songs, IMNSHO).

Yeah, Danger Mouse and Count Duckula are two of my earliest Nickelodeon memories. I watched some episodes of each while in college-- the writing was really clever.

    Anyhow
    1. I live under someone's bed.
    2. My favorite food is socks.
    3. My best friend lives in a toilet.

Hmmm. Can't think of any sock eaters who live under a bed.

Yes, I used to watch that show while waiting for the Bugs Bunny and Tweety Show on Saturday mornings on ABC. Night of the Living Bread-in which Squishington and Mr. Bumpy must do battle with a bread zombie was my favorite episode.

I remember seeing that show occasionally. It was pretty cute.

My show is based on a series of live action movies.
I couldn't talk in the movies, but I could in the T.V. show.
    I'm named after a scientist.
