    Other Side Of Maleficent

I have been looking forward to Maleficent with equal amounts of anticipation and dread. On one hand, she is easily my favorite Disney villain, so cold and so pure, and I want desperately to see more of her and her back-story. On the other hand, she is easily my favorite Disney villain, and I would hate to see her parodied, taken lightly or ultimately destroyed in a film that does not understand this great character. The good news is that this film almost gets it right; but that is also the bad news.

    Disney To Feast In France

The follow up to Disney’s 2013 Academy Award Winning short Paperman has been announced, and it will premiere at France’s Annecy International Animated Film Festival. Titled The Feast, the short looks to be based on the same stylized CG techniques used on last years Paperman, a more natural and hand-drawn look to computer animation.

    Renegades of Animation: Pat Sullivan

Pat Sullivan became famous worldwide for his creation of Felix the Cat. What most animation histories gloss over is Sullivan’s checkered past and longtime standing as a wildcat renegade. He didn’t follow the rules. And he made damn sure to fully protect his intellectual properties.

Splendid clue three, Fluidgirl: it clued me in exactly to where my thinking needed to go.

This is Butterbear from Disney Television's The Wuzzles. Part bear, part butterfly, all weird. And a fine gardner. (And I mistype quite a few posts myself, so ... no biggie. :) )

Correct, OUB. Though I wouldn't necessarily call the Wuzzles all weird, considering it was one of my favorites when I was a kid (then again, I was a pretty weird kid . . . . .) Anyway, you're up.

Well, it's still admirable that you found an untapped cartoon series for this game, well done. :D Now, it's up to me to do the same.

    1) This character has appeared only once to date in an animated Disney feature film. Yes, Disney again. They're prolific, okay?

    2) It's a young male character, who survives all the way through the story, right up to the happy ending.

    3) This character is an adoptee, taken in by foreigners at a very tender age. Of course, like most young 'uns, he grew. Oh boy, did he grow.

Time for another guess. Is it Paul Bunyan?

I believe it's someone other than Paul Bunyan, but I'll see if someone else gets it.

Perhaps Aladar from Dinosaur? All I really know is that he was adopted by lemurs.

Oooh, for a while there, I thought Saltyboot had found a "correct" answer that matched the clues. However, Disney's Paul Bunyan runs only seventeen minutes, and is therefore an animated short film, not a feature film. But mightily close nonetheless.

And the Correct Answer Award goes to Glowworm, for pinpointing Aladar from Disney's Dinosaur in May 2000, his sole appearance so far. And he makes it all the way from egg in the nest to the idyllic valley, despite meteors, raptors and carnotaurs. While still in the egg, he gets transplanted the most roundabout way to the island of the lemurs, where he hatches. They take him in despite misgivings. Hey, having a hundred-foot long stepbrother can come in handy, y'know? Good on you, Glowworm, take another +1 and control of the Board. :)

Thanks, had to think for a moment on that one too, since Dinosaur is a tad forgotten.
    1. I am a little bit nuts.
    2. I am trying really hard to crack a literal case.
    3. Dynamite, tools, even throwing it off a building just won't suffice.

I think it's the squirrel from "Much Ado About Nutting." Just looked it up.

Definitly. It is the squirrel from "Much Ado About Nutting" I love this charming little cartoon so much.
    1. A pun, the squirrel really likes nuts.
    2. The short is basically about a squirrel trying to crack open a coconut.
    3. Dynamite doesn't work. Tools such as an axe or a saw won't work--even throwing it off the top of the Empire State Building fails.

Thanks, Glowworm. Now here's one I discovered just this morning:

    1. Like Alice on "The Brady Bunch," I accompany my employer and the others in their travels.

    2. I act as nanny of three brothers with rhyming names, and am also the grandma of one of their friends. And yes, I'm the housekeeper, too.

    3. My animated series is 100% "ducky."

I'll say it's Mrs. Beakley from DuckTales.

Yes, Mrs. Bentina Beakley it is!

    1. She goes everywhere Uncle Scrooge and the others go.

    2. She acts not only as housekeeper, but also as Huey, Dewey, and Louie's nanny. She's also Webby Webbigai's maternal granny.

    3. What more can I say? Other than, you're up again, Salty, and great job! :)

Thanks! Now here's what I found.

    I appeared in two shorts.
I really know how to build up the tension.
However, my arrogance gets the best of me.

Hmm, I really can't pinpoint a character, either. My one thought was Uncle Pecos from the Tom and Jerry cartoon "Pecos Pest," but as far as I know, he's had only that one appearance. Tension would refer to the guitar strings he uses, and wowee is he arrogant. But I'm obviously off target on this one. Perhaps after dinner...

Looks like another set is in order.

My second short is a sequel.
Turns out, I'm not only arrogant but also a sexist.
I didn't have any faith in my daughters, so I tried to do the task for them.

Yep, it's Casey from Casey At The Bat, and Casey Bats Again.

In the first short, he builds up the tension by purposely ignoring the first two pitches. With all that build up, he misses the last pitch and looses the game.

In the second short, you see how sexist he is when he kept crying over having all daughters and no sons. The girls are fully capable of playing baseball, but Casey had no faith in them.

OK emeraldisle, you're up to bat!

Thanks, Salty. So without delay, I present these clues:

    1. I flee when my kitty cat swallows a precious jewel, taking her with me.

    2. I'm pursued by the jewel's rightful owner, some men, and a thief and master of disguise named for both a mythical bird and a city in Arizona.

    3. I myself have the same name as a classic ABBA song.
