    Other Side Of Maleficent

I have been looking forward to Maleficent with equal amounts of anticipation and dread. On one hand, she is easily my favorite Disney villain, so cold and so pure, and I want desperately to see more of her and her back-story. On the other hand, she is easily my favorite Disney villain, and I would hate to see her parodied, taken lightly or ultimately destroyed in a film that does not understand this great character. The good news is that this film almost gets it right; but that is also the bad news.

    Disney To Feast In France

The follow up to Disney’s 2013 Academy Award Winning short Paperman has been announced, and it will premiere at France’s Annecy International Animated Film Festival. Titled The Feast, the short looks to be based on the same stylized CG techniques used on last years Paperman, a more natural and hand-drawn look to computer animation.

    Renegades of Animation: Pat Sullivan

Pat Sullivan became famous worldwide for his creation of Felix the Cat. What most animation histories gloss over is Sullivan’s checkered past and longtime standing as a wildcat renegade. He didn’t follow the rules. And he made damn sure to fully protect his intellectual properties.

I figured that when I saw the second set of clues. It's Tobias the Dragon, from "The Reluctant Dragon And Mr. Toad."

    1. Self-explanatory.

    2. Being a dragon, the people should fear him, but none of them do.

    3. He does get gifts, but the daisies given to him by a young girl set him off.

    4. Self-explanatory again.

    5. The curse of sneezing whenever he saw daisies was placed upon him by his father, Sir Andrew.

    6. The series was produced by Rankin-Bass, which had many animated series, and holiday specials.

And of course, this is completely accurate: Tobias the dragon it is. When they're not doing stop-motion animation, Arthur Rankin and Jules Bass have a distinctive style, and Tobias the dragon fits it nicely. Marvelous deduction, EmeraldIsle, and a wonderful elaboration as well. Take a hearty +1 and control of the board. :)

Thanks, OUB. Now here's one that I planned several weeks ago:

    1. I'm the only villainess in the series to ever be a title character.

    2. My four-part story arc is a takeoff on "Sleeping Beauty."

    3. During the thrilling climax, I'm destroyed by the title hero, along with my mode of transportation.

This sounds like Maleficent, the fourth fairy that wasn't invited to Aurora's presentation.

Sorry, but it's not her. If I remember correctly, she's already on the list.

Could it be The Witch of Pickyune from Underdog? I don't even know if I spelled it right, but it sounds like her.

    1. The title of the particular Underdog episode was titled "The Witch of Pickyune."

    2. Most Underdog episodes are four parts long, and this was no exception. I haven't seen it in awhile, but I *do* know that the witch cast a spell on Sweet Polly Purebred that was going to make her sleep for a thousand years or something like that.

    3. I think Underdog defeated her by breaking her broom in half or something? Like I said, I haven't seen it in awhile

Absolutely, positively right, Fluidgirl, and for all the reasons you listed. I chose her in order to combine "Underdog's" 50th anniversary with Halloween. So you get to go again. Great job. :)

Yay! Mein sister should be proud of me for remembering that one. Underdog is one of her favorites, and "The Witch of Pickyune" is one of her favorite episodes! Anyway, I digress. Here's an interesting one:

    1. I only appeared in my fanchise's very first episode

    2. I'm upset because my best friend is moving away

    3. When my best friend runs away, the main characters and I go to find him

Can't put my finger on it. Besides, the others deserve a good guess.

This sound familiar, but can't put my finger on it either. I'll be waiting for the next set.

Okay, then. Bear with me here.

    4. The episode I appear in started out as a TV special before it officially became an episode

    5. My best friend is captured by the bad guy and is made into a slave (somewhat literally)

    6. The main characters and I encounter living trees, rocks, and flowers at one point

Now, with these clues, anyone care to make another guess?

I thought I found the answer, but what I found didn't mention any living trees, rocks, and flowers.

It was the Bear clue that set me onto it!

OK, then - here's my next character...

    1) Suicide didn't turn out as I had expected.
    2) There is a reason why my poems are all in lower case.
    3) I try to get a good-time girl to see the error of her ways.

Well, there's only one who matches those clues to a T. Archy the cockroach, from "Shinbone Alley."

Thanks, Pete. Now here's another no one thought of as yet:

    1. I'm a recording artist turned music teacher.

    2. The title of my series has nothing to do with a graduation year or even the number of students I teach. Rather, it's named after my voice actor.

    3. Currently, my voice actor is playing a real life rock icon, who's been "experienced" with purple hazes and watchtowers.

Yes, Saltyboot. It most certainly is Sunny Bridges.

The first two clues are self-explanatory. As for clue 3, Andre 3000 is currently playing Hendrix in the new biopic "All By My Side."

So take it away. Good job. :)
